how to create synthetic seismograms using mscl core data
Hi everyone;
I have 4 MSCL core data which including with velocity, density, resistivity and this data contains with 5 cm/sampling rate. I would like to create synthetic seismograms with each cores and compare with seismic profiles.
how to i create these seismograms?
It wouldn’t be any different than creating synthetics for a well in SynPAK. Only difference here is the source of the data is your MSCL cores. You may follow the below steps:
– Import those velocity and density data as curve data under each well under Logs > Import > Single Text File (you may not need resistivity for this exercise)
– You may later want to resample them under Logs > Edit > Resample
– Start SynPAK
– You need to have a T-D chart to start with. Have a look at this topic to create one:

– You can select any of the curve data as your reference log
– Make your selections under each tabs required to move forward
